On October 29, 2024, students of the Faculty of Law of the Abay Myrzakhmetov Kokshetau University had a unique opportunity to meet with representatives of the Department of Economic Investigations - Captain of the Service A.E. Baimurzin and Senior Investigator, Senior Lieutenant E.O. Kuttygozhin. The meeting, organized by the Department for the Development of Cooperation with Regions together with the Department of Jurisprudence, was held on current topics of financial literacy, prevention of financial pyramids and online fraud. Experts spoke about the importance of financial literacy, shared practical advice on identifying fraudulent schemes and told how to recognize and avoid falling for the tricks of online scammers. They encouraged students to write scientific research on this issue and conduct scientific analysis. Methods of preventing and combating illegal advertising of financial pyramids were also discussed. The students showed great interest and actively asked questions, especially about smuggling investigations and the specifics of the work of the employees of the Department of Economic Investigations. Such events are an excellent opportunity for future lawyers to learn more about the nuances of law enforcement and the threats associated with financial crimes. We are confident that the knowledge gained will help our students in their future professional development.
