INCREASING FINANCIAL LITERACY OF YOUTH

On November 13 of this year, as part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the National Currency, in order to develop the skills of a respectful and competent attitude towards money, students of the Faculty of Economics of A. Myrzakhmetov Kokshetau University took part in the training “Family is a source of financial literacy”, which was conducted by specialists from the Center for Social Development Department of Internal Policy of Akmola Region. Financial literacy is the knowledge and skills that help to make informed and smart financial decisions. To be considered financially literate, you need to understand basic financial concepts, navigate the services of financial institutions, use them with an awareness of the pros, cons and risks, correctly assess the market situation, manage finances: maintain a budget, plan spending, accumulate savings and, if possible, avoid debt. Financial literacy is necessary to protect yourself and your family in unforeseen circumstances and improve your quality of life. These issues were actively discussed by those present during the event. In order to implement the “Financial Literacy” project, a survey was conducted with students at the end of the training.
