On the initiative of the A. Myrzakhmetov Kokshetau University (author of the idea - Lepeshev D.V.) with the assistance and support of the Modern Education & Research Institute (MERI) (Brussels, Belgium) on March 11, 2021, the grand opening of the International Laboratory for Inclusive Education took place.
The main tasks of the international laboratory are generalization of positive experience in the implementation of inclusive practices, the formation of a bank of pedagogical ideas to support inclusive communities, the development of models, exchange of experience on the use of forms, methods, techniques and practices of inclusive education.
The international laboratory is dedicated to sharing the experience of eliminating barriers in the education of children with special needs in general education schools, to promote the smooth integration of such children into society, to ensure their interaction with peers.
Despite the progress achieved in ensuring access to inclusive education in the world, only through joint efforts can we change the life of “sunny” children and their families for the better, and make the right to a decent education a reality.
The first meeting of the laboratory participants took place on the topic: The unbeaten road to inclusion in education. Belarus is a success story.
More than 186 participants from 18 countries of the world took part in the online meeting, including students, undergraduates of the Department of Social and Pedagogical Disciplines and the teaching staff who took an active part.
Moderators and speakers were: Tatiana Zhuk, director of the state educational institution "Brest Regional Center for Correctional and Developmental Education and Rehabilitation", Tatiana Lisovskaya, Professor of the Department of Special Pedagogy of the Belarusian State Pedagogical University after M. Tank, Dina Lazurkina, Deputy Director for Basic Activities of the State Educational Institution “Mogilev Regional Center for Correction and Development Education and Rehabilitation”.
The participants of the first meeting within the framework of this laboratory received interesting new knowledge and experience from their Belarusian colleagues.
Meetings at the site of the Modern Education & Research Institute (MERI) (Brussels, Belgium) are planned monthly with the provision of a platform for the participating countries to demonstrate the achievements in the implementation of inclusive practices.
